Sin City, the “Entertainment Capital of the World”, a city that
never sleeps – all of these nicknames pertain to none other than Las
Vegas. This city, which is the largest in the state of Nevada, is
located amidst the southern Nevada desert landscape.
But more than the mega-casinos, plush hotels, the colorful Vegas
strip which literally glows at night and the modern entertainment
options that it has to offer, what else should a first-time visitor
look forward to when visiting Las Vegas?
The Endless Entertainment Options to Select from in Las Vegas
One of the reasons why people from all over the world flock to Las
Vegas – aside from the gambling – is to sample the wide array of
entertainment options that it has to offer. First, let’s have a
glimpse at the sightseeing opportunities that you will get to have
once you visit Las Vegas. Once you step foot in the Bellagio, you
will see how the Fountains perform a marvelous set-to-music display.
There’s also a fine art gallery here, as well as some of the finest
buffet options on the Strip.
If you want to see some live animals, visit the koi, turtles and
exotic birds at the Flamingo Garden. Dolphins can be viewed
from within the Mirage for a fee, and you can visit the free lion
habitat at MGM Grand. Or you can even walk through a transparent
tunnel with sharks, fish and sea turtle at the Shark Reef in
Mandalay Bay.
Another popular, non-gambling activity is the Cloud Nine Balloon
Ride which is the world’s largest land-tethered helium balloon ride.
Star Trek: The Experience, the Las Vegas Chinatown Plaza, US Route
95 and the Erotic Heritage Museum are other must-visit spots in Las
Vegas.
In addition, you can take your pick from a myriad of free shows,
Cirque du Soleil shows, production shows, tribute shows, magic shows
and headliner shows can all be had at Las Vegas.
Gambling, Sports – and Marriage?
As you may already know, Las Vegas is also a famous spot for
worldwide boxing, sporting and even poker events. Hockey games are
held in the Las Vegas Wranglers arena while Las Vegas 51’s Cashman
Field is a baseball club where games are also held.
If you think that Las Vegas is only popular for gambling, think
again. If you want to engage in outdoor sports activities, you can
do just that while visiting the Sin City at the same time. Red Rock
Canyon is a famous rock climbing site where you can also do some day
hiking and backpacking activities. Skiing and mountain biking are
the other outdoor activities that you can indulge in here.
There is one more nickname that Las Vegas has become known for –
which is its being the wedding capital of the world. Whether it’s a
planned or spur-of-the-moment wedding, you can easily say your “I
dos” in one of the chapels here – and even make the city double up
as a destination for your honeymoon!
As you can see, there are plenty of things to do, places to see and
endless entertainment options which can be had in Las Vegas. If you
haven’t been here already, you shouldn’t pass up on the opportunity
